Affectionately known as America’s Chief Skill Officer and relied upon as a thought leader, when asked to assess the landscape, Troy states, “These are indeed tumultuous times in our world and workplace. Workplace relationships, respect and results are directly impacted by what is going on in the world, on many levels. We all bring our own unique values, beliefs, background, upbringing, life experiences, thinking styles, and communication styles to work every day. Though we are on the same team, those differences often surface cross-culturally; when conflict arises, tension escalates, trust declines, and respect diminishes… manifesting in strong emotions, negative attitudes, unprofessional behavior, conflict, silos, low morale, poor performance, and lost productivity.”
Troy believes that dealing with differences and finding common ground is at the core of the human dynamic. This truth also intersects with his personal faith. In times of division and polarization, he relies on his anchor scripture, 2 Timothy 1:7: “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind.” No one wants to give up power, no one wants to live without love, and no one wants to lose their sound mind. The belief that we can do better for greater quality of work life and bottom-line impact is the motivation and inspiration that leads Troy’s client partnerships.
